Trigger Point Release Massage
Designed to release and eliminate hyper-irritable spots, usually within a taut band of skeletal muscle or in the muscle fascia. These irritable spots are painful on compression and give rise to characteristic referred pain and tenderness in other parts of the body.

[Myofascia refers to the muscle tissue and its accompanying connective tissue webbing which act together as a combined unit. Muscle tissue is enclosed within the fascial web and the two act in concert to exert constant balanced tension on the bones in order to hold the skeleton in correct postural alignment.]

Hot Stone Massage
Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on your body to assist initial relaxation. We then use the firmness of the stones to massage various muscle areas of your body. The use of hot stones for healing dates back to ancient times.

How Does Hot Stone Massage Work?
The hot stones are usually made of basalt, a type of rock that is rich in iron, so they retain heat. River rocks are normally used because they are so smooth - they have been smoothed over time by the river's current. The stones are immersed in water and heated in an electric heating device until they are within a certain temperature range to suit being on the body. The stones are placed at specific points on your back, in the palms of your hands, and between the toes. The heat warms and relaxes the muscles, which allows the therapist to apply deeper pressure, as desired. The warmth of the hot stones improves circulation and calms the nervous system. Stones can be placed on meridian points that are energy centres of the body to rebalance the body, mind and spirit.

Indian Head Massage
This is a treatment that can help to relax, calm or invigorate you. The massage is usually done with the client in a seated position, and the therapist uses their hands to knead, squeeze, and rub the soft tissues of the upper back, neck, head and face to relieve tension, and to relax and stimulate the body.

How Does It Work?
The head, neck, and shoulders are important centres within the body that tend to accumulate stress, anger, and tension, which often shows up later as a stiff neck and shoulders, eye strain, and sometimes even hair loss. Indian Head Massage involves working with a firm and gentle rhythm to help unknot blockages and relieve the uncomfortable build up of tensions. Its effects are not just physical - it works on an emotional level too, calming the heart, promoting relaxation and relieving tension.
